Rowan scoop

Small scoop carved from Rowan wood. Timber collected from East Woodlands, Somerset and carved using axe and knives. Finished with a blend of beeswax and hempseed oil.

Rowan is one of the softest fruit woods to carve, this particular scoop came from a tree that had come down in recent storms, the slight discolouration in the bowl is the start of the spalting process as fungi move in to break the wood down into mulch.
