Small scoop carved from Cherry wood. Timber collected from Corsham, Wiltshire and carved using axe and knives. Finished with a blend of beeswax and hempseed oil.
When Cherry lies on the woodland floor for long enough it goes through an almost miraculous transformation as the fibres settle and fungus works its way in and starts to break down the timber. Caught at the right moment the freshly split wood takes on an array of shades and smells somewhere between almonds and cola. Unfortunately the scent fades as the wood dries but the colours stay put.
