About

I am a green woodworker, forager and forest school leader based in Somerset.

I was given my first knife during my forest school training in 2015 and since then I have been making wooden items of use and interest almost daily.

The wood I use comes as part of the woodland management cycle to keep my ecological footprint as low as possible. It also means that many native hardwoods have become part of my repertoire of making and are all linked to my journey through the woodlands that I have been given permission to collect from.

Each item of treen I produce is made using some combination of an axe, knives, saws and a hand drill. They start with brief pencil sketches on the wood before being permanently drawn over with edged tools. At the end of the process they are marked with my signature, the surveyor's benchmark.

I am available to book for carving lessons, email [email protected] or click on the contact page.
